That is what happened in late October 2005.

Looking at the results for our 05-06 season vs. the draft,... I guess it is best to draft in the middle positions? ... No! ... Wait a minute... in the 04-05 season, we had the same top 3 finishers as in 05-06 and those teams drafted 1-2-3... so it is better to draft in the top 4... no!.... wait a minute... it just doesn't matter... a good draft is a good draft and a bad draft is a bad draft... pick smart... get value... take risks, but not too many... blah, blah, blah...

I bolded some key value picks that I felt were important and marked a few crappy picks in red. As you can see, the league is not won on draft day, but it can certainly be lost on draft day. It is interesting to look back and see strategies at work AND how things played out over the season.
